normally, i'd only look at sans serif fonts. there's only certain serif fonts that i like and use a lot such as Bauer Bodoni, Linotype Didot and Trajan. but sans serifs, man, do i have a thousand of them in my fontbook. yes, i organize my fontbooks according to type. it makes it easier for me to find which typeface go with which mood i'm trying to put across in design. but lately, i find myself really into scripts, mostly the handwritten or brush scripts that look like they came straight from the 1960's ads and signages. most of these fonts are commercial lisenced, meaning you're gonna have to pay for them, but i have scoured hi and lo on the net to look for some decent free ones for you guys:
1. Reklame Script (MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! i'll always find ways to use this in my designs). The complete font family is not for free but the demo one is. I can cheat on the weights and make do without the glyphs.
2. Antrokas
3. Honey Script
4. Halo Handletter
5. Blackjack
6. HSS Pessoas Lindas
7. Ma Sexy
8. Angelina
I couldn't find the type specimens from Nos. 3-8, so i had to make them myself. All quotes are from one of my favorite writer / diarist, Anais Nin. Looking for her quotes make me remember how much i love to read her. And i really miss reading her books. I think i'll go home and pick one up just for nostalgia.
